Maternal Support Services is a non-medical support program for pregnant women, their newborns and their families.
Services
Services for this program includes:
- Home or office visits
- Education on pregnancy, labor, delivery, breast-feeding and nutrition
- Referrals to other agencies as needed; housing, counseling, or other community services
Eligibility
- Pregnant women who are Michigan residents
- Must be Medicaid eligible (MOMS, non-Medicaid Mich Care or Healthy Kids - call for info)
Fees
Free to eligible pregnant women.

Q: If I’m working or going to school can I still participate in this program?
A: As long as you are eligible for the program, visits will be arranged around your schedule.
Q: Do I need childbirth and breast-feeding classes?
A: Our staff will discuss the benefits of those types of classes and refer you to area programs.
Q: Can Maternal Support Services help prepare me to care for my newborn?
A: Our staff will educate and support you in the care of your new baby, such as breast-feeding support, bottle-feeding and basic newborn care.
