Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program

Free annual exams for women age 40-64

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) provides low-income women, ages 40-64, with access to life-saving cancer screening services and follow-up care.   Funded by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the BCCCP program provides preventative services to ensure that women who have breast and cervical cancer are identified at earlier stages of these diseases, when treatment is more responsive and the survival rate is more favorable.


Services
Tests and exams under this program include:
  • Clinical breast exams
  • Mammograms
  • Pelvic exams
  • Pap tests
  • Follow-up tests and referrals



Eligibility

To be eligible for BCCCP services, women must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an income < 250% of federal poverty level (see chart below)
  • Be uninsured or underinsured for these tests, and
  • Age 40 – 64 for screenings and diagnostic follow-up of breast/cervical abnormalities, or
  • Age 18 – 39 with a cervical abnormality identified through the Family Planning program (Title X).


Note: Women who are enrolled in a managed care program, a health maintenance organization, or Medicare Part B are not eligible for the BCCCP.
