Anonymous… confidential… free!

It’s estimated that more than 250,000 people are infected with HIV and don’t know it. Knowing your HIV status can save your life and the lives of those around you. The Health Department provides free, anonymous HIV-antibody testing and counseling by appointment.


Services
The HIV testing program offers:

  • Education and information
  • Free blood test, or
  • $15 oral (Orasure) test Counseling



Eligibility
Anyone who wishes to be tested is eligible.


Fees
Education, information, and blood testing are offered free of charge. There is a $15 fee for those who choose to have an Orasure test.

Q: Do I need to give my name?
A: No.  You will be assigned a number.

Q: What is an oral HIV test?
A: Orasure is an oral specimen collection device used to collect fluid from the mouth in only a few minutes without the use of needles.  The fluid is tested for HIV antibodies.
