Did you know...?
Michigan residents are among the nation’s heaviest. 35% of Michigan adults are overweight. Obesity has been linked to diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and certain types of cancer.  For overweight individuals, increased physical activity and improved diet can reduce the risk of chronic disease.

Did you know...?
Second-hand tobacco smoke is the third leading cause of preventable death in the United States.  Second-hand smoke causes approximately 3,000 cases of lung cancer each year and has been linked to cancers of the pancreas, kidney, bladder, cervix, breast and brain.

Exposure to second-hand smoke is especially dangerous to children. It increases the risk of ear infections, asthma, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). More children die as a result of parental smoking than from all unintentional injuries combined.
