On November 4, 2008, Michigan voters approved The Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA). The Michigan Medical Marihuana Program (MMMP) has now been established to implement the program provided for in the Act. The MMMP will be administered by the Michigan Department of Community Health, Bureau of Health Professions. Local public health departments will have no role in administering or overseeing this program and will refer all callers to the:

Michigan Medical Marihuana Program (MMMP) website

The MMMP is a registration program only. Individuals with certain health conditions may download a physician certification form on-line and bring it to an appointment with their healthcare provider, to be completed. The individual my then  submit the form to the MMMP as part of the registration process. Physicians will not be writing prescriptions and the program does not provide any information on or assistance with obtaining marihuana.

The MMMP website provides general information about the program, a FAQ page and application forms. For individuals without internet access, MMMP program staff may be contacted at (517)-373-0395.
