Healthy Kids
Healthy Kids is a Medicaid health care program for low-income children under age 19 and for Pregnant Women of any age. There is no monthly premium for the program, which provides a comprehensive package of health care benefits including vision, dental, and mental health services.
Healthy Kids Covers:
Healthy Kids covers most medically necessary health care needs including:
- Ambulance
- Dental
- Doctor visits
- Family planning
- Health check-ups & Well-child visits
- Hearing, speech & vision services
- Home Health & Hospice care
- Hospital care
- Immunizations (shots)
- Lab and x-ray tests
- Nursing home care
- Medical supplies & medications
- Mental health
- Personal care services
- Physical therapy
- Prenatal care and support services
- Substance abuse
- Surgery
For Pregnant Women Coverage Includes:
- checkups (prenatal care) before your baby is born
- lab and x-ray tests
- prenatal vitamins
- delivery (birth) of your baby
- hospital care
- care for your baby after he or she is born
- other services that Healthy Kids covers
As a recipient of Healthy Child benefits, you may also qualify for the Maternal & Infant Health Program (MIHP) to provide support and education during and following your pregnancy.
To apply for Healthy Kids:
You may apply for Healthy Kids online or by submitting a paper application. Eligibility for Healthy Kids is based on income. To enroll you must be a Michigan resident and have a social security number.
