Food Service Plan Review

All establishments, even simple ones, must go through a food establishment plan review process. It consists of the submission of detailed, scaled drawings of the entire building including electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. Specification sheets for all proposed equipment must be provided as well as a proposed menu. The requirements for plan approval and licensure can be found at the Michigan Department of Agriculture Web site Requirements for Plan Approval page.

Plan submittal packets and information can also be obtained by calling the Hancock office or information can be downloaded here:

Plan approval must be obtained before any construction takes place.
