   Infant Support Services is a non-medical support program directed at infants by assisting parents in learning skills related to nutrition, growth & development and parenting issues.

Services

Services for this program includes:

Education on infant feeding
Education on immunizations
Education on growth and development
Assistance with other parenting questions

Eligibility

Michigan residents with newborns or infants under age 1
Must be Medicaid eligible (Healthy Kids - call for info)
Non-Medicaid families served through a Michigan Department of Education grant

Fees

Free to eligible infants under 1 year of age.

   Q:   How will I know what to feed my baby at different ages?
   A: Our Infant Support Services staff will help you understand the basics of infant nutrition throughout the first year and can answer any questions you may have - just give us a call!

   Q:  What should my baby be able to do at 6 months old?
   A: During a home visit, our staff can talk with you about infant development and can also help you with an Ages and Stages screening which allows parents to self-evaluate their infants at periodic intervals.

   Q:  Are there groups available for my baby and me?
   A: Our Infant Support Services staff can give you information about the various services available to families in the area.
