Eligibility
Everyone, regardless of age, can participate in immunization programs through the Western UP Health Department. Under the Affordable Health Care Act, many insurance providers are covering immunizations as a form of preventative care.
Those without insurance coverage may qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Children 18 years of age and younger qualify for VFC if they meet any of the following eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled in Medicaid
- Have no health insurance, or have health insurance, but immunizations are not covered
- Are of American Indian or Alaskan Native heritage
- Served by a federally qualified or rural health center and are under-insured
Clients without vaccination coverage and who do not qualify for VFC may pay privately for vaccinations. Click here for the private pay immunization and injection fee schedule.
