Due to winter weather conditions, all field work has ended for the season. Requests for Service will be placed on the Spring Wait List in the order that they were received, and we will reach out to schedule service when our field season resumes in the Spring.
Existing sewage systems may require inspections/site evaluations for a number of reasons, including:
- To obtain a Child or Adult Care Facility License
- To obtain an MDARD Food License
- Real estate transactions/Home Loan Evaluation
- Planned increases in flow to an existing system due to building remodel or addition
During the inspection of an existing sewage system a Sanitarian will assess the capacity of the existing system and determine compliance with the Upper Peninsula Environmental Health Code.
*The typical wait time for an appointment is 4-6 weeks from receipt of a complete application and payment.
To initiate an existing system inspection, please complete our Request for Service Application.
The applicant is required to have a licensed septage hauler onsite to pump the septic tank during the inspection.
